Have you ever wondered what the vegan ‘hype’ is all about and why people are so into it? Or, as a vegan have you been asked the question “Why veganism?” by your friends and family, while you don’t really know how to answer it? Here you’ll find a summary of (most) relevant information on reasons to go vegan and how to do it!
Why veganism?
You can eat plant-based for many different reasons. In short, we stand for animals and the environment.
- The environment: The meat, dairy, and egg industry is responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than all transportation combined. Switching to a plant-based diet is the best thing you can do for the environment. If you want to learn more about the impact of animal products on climate change, please watch the documentary Cowspiracy.
- The animals: We can all agree that killing and harming conscious beings is bad. But somewhere along the way, we lost that connection with the animals we consume. If you want to learn more about what actually happens to animals in animal agriculture, please watch the documentary Dominion.
